Jonny Goodday
A Texas cinematographer, photographer, and storyteller preserving the character of historic places before their stories disappear.
A camera became my way to connect people with place.
Hi, I’m John L. Partesius, but most people know me as Jonny Goodday. I chose the alias because it is easier to remember, and it fits a body of work centered on preserving the places and stories that deserve to be remembered.
My journey into visual storytelling began in 2015. What started with a deep need to create became a passion for photographing architecture, landscapes, and the details that give a place its identity. For me, making an image is not simply about how something looks. It is about helping people feel the history, nostalgia, and atmosphere held inside it.
That work has taken me across Texas and beyond, documenting landmarks as well as overlooked places with stories hiding in plain sight. Through photography, cinematography, research, and editing, I want to make those stories accessible and memorable before time carries them away.

What I bring to every story.
Each project combines visual craft with curiosity, local memory, and careful attention to place.
Help keep these Texas stories moving.
Contributions help cover the travel, research, photography, filming, editing, and website costs behind each story. Every contribution, one-time or monthly, helps me spend more time documenting places worth remembering.
